In Australia, there were relatively few places to study Aikido, Thambu Sensei recognized a need for a dedicated dojo that could provide high-quality instruction to students of all levels.
Thambu Sensei had been practicing Aikido for many years before opening the Heidelberg West Dojo, and he had already established a reputation as a skilled and dedicated practitioner. His vision for the dojo was to create a community of martial artists who could share their knowledge and experiences, and who could support one another in their training and development.
Over the years, the Heidelberg West Dojo has become one of the largest and most respected Aikido dojos in Australia, with a reputation for excellence in both instruction and practice. Thambu Sensei’s vision and dedication to the art of Aikido have been instrumental in the dojo’s success, and his leadership and guidance continue to shape the dojo and its community today.
The Heidelberg West Dojo is a martial arts training facility that specializes in the practice of Aikido, a Japanese martial art that focuses on using an opponent’s energy and movements to defend oneself. The dojo is located in the Melbourne suburb of Heidelberg West, Victoria, Australia.
