Uchideshi/Dojosei Program

It's very easy to enrol with us.

Being a soto-deshi is the best way for you to excel in your aikido, whilst allowing you to continue with your day-to-day life. Through the program, you will get a lot of personal attention from the instructors and be pushed hard physically, mentally and emotionally as there will be expectations of you both on the mats and off the mats.

Aikido Shudokan Soto Deshi Program

To participate, you will need to commit to a certain number of classes per week, assist in childrens classes and complete some duties around the dojo.

There are two streams of the soto-deshi program open to students, depending on how much you can commit to. The two streams are:

A Stream

  • Training in 5 classes per week
  • Assisting in 2 childrens classes per week
  • Training in 1 private class per week

B Stream

  • Training in 3 classes per week
  • Assisting in 1 childrens class per week
  • Training in 1 private class per week

All soto-deshi must:

  • arrive at least 30 minutes before class starts
  • remain training on the mats until all instructors have left the mats
  • remain in dogi until change permitted
  • assist with basic dojo upkeep as requested
